Birmingham Engagement Session Locations

Hey Y’all!

Today we’re sharing about the question we get asked quite often: “where should we shoot our engagement pictures?”. While we always recommend getting creative and thinking of somewhere unique for your session, we understand that sometimes you might not have anywhere in mind! We’ve actually got a whole blog post setup for how to think outside the box for locations here! If you’re short on ideas then we’ve compiled a list of our top 5 Birmingham locations that our K&A couples love.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens

The gardens is only 10 minutes from downtown Birmingham & at the same time feels like it’s own little world. We love the gardens because it offers so many different location styles within such a small location. They’ve even got an indoor location, the greenhouse, which is totally gorgeous! Here’s just a couple of looks that are possible there:

Railroad Park

This may be our personal favorite choice because it’s not only gorgeous, but it’s close to so many locations! Literally, it’s within walking distance from 5-6 great secondary locations. It’s got the Birmingham skyline in the background, gorgeous outdoor looks, the water, and more.

Rooftops

There’s just something so special about the light you get from a rooftop session. They tend to give us cleaner looking photos, a stunning city view, and they’re super private for your session. Lots of our couples love them when they’re seeking out a Birmingham city view.

Birmingham Bridges

By the Birmingham bridges we mean the bridges between North & Southside. They’re smack-dab in the middle of the city & close to so many other locations including Railroad Park! We really like the urban look these bridges and we’re suckers for gorgeous light!

Oak Mountain State Park

This ones a little outside of the city, but for our outdoorsy couples this is a great option. Our favorite location is the canoe center right on the water. You can also get to the top of the mountain, trails & more great locations here.

Rotary Trail Sign

It’s magical! Really, we love shooting in front of this sign because it’s so “Birmingham” and makes your photos pop. It’s right down the street from Railroad Park and 7-8 other great spots like the light tunnels! 🙂 If you can’t tell we really like close proximity between locations.
