A Birmingham Wedding at 6th Avenue Baptist Church

Her mom grabbed the microphone, ready for her speech. She’d waited over 30 years for this day and it was finally here. Her baby, Marlania, found the sweetest man who committed himself to her forever. Their wedding day had been more beautiful than anyone could have imagined. She was just so proud of them and her speech embodied just how true that was.

The whole room listened intently to every word she spoke, not an eye was elsewhere. So, as she pulled out that green bottle of champagne everyone paused. Marlania had known about that bottle her entire life. This was the bottle, the one her Mom & Dad had saved from their wedding day. They had kept it especially for the daughter they prayed they’d one day have. It was saved for this very occasion, Marlania’s wedding day. The moment her mom handed it off to Marlania & Bilal you could feel the emotion in the room. This was the reason everyone was here, to celebrate their love and the legacy of love they’ve come from.

As photographers, this moment was something we’ll never forget. This is why we love what we do and it was such an enormous honor to witness the love in that room. It’s not everyday you get to experience an incredible moment like this. Really, there were so many moments during their day that felt that way.

Marlania & Bilal, you two are such an incredible couple. The way you balance one another out, bring out the best in each other, support one another, it’s amazing. We are so excited to hear how the two of you grow together! We hope that the start of your marriage & lives together in Houston is better than you could ever imagine! For now, live it up in Mexico for us!!
