Joshua planned an incredible surprise proposal in the snow of Mt. Lassen, California while they were on vacation. In an attempt to throw her off his trail, he had his brother, Ricky, invite them to go sledding. Jessica declined though, throwing his plan off until Joshua could try to work some magic. Joshua then called in reinforcements and had his sister, Kristy, come up with a great reason for Jess to go. Thankfully, it worked!
When they arrived at a beautiful spot on the mountain, they started walking around and taking pictures. You have to get that perfect photo for the ‘gram or it didn’t happen, right?! It was the perfect ruse!
After a few minutes of having fun snapping pics, Joshua grabbed Jessica’s hand and said, “Jessica Smalley, I love you.” She was shocked and said back to him, “Josh, is this really happening right now?” Joshua said, “YES!” He got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife right there surrounded by the most stunning snow covered landscape.
Then she responded with a, “YES!” As they were walking back to the car, their parents and family were walking toward them ready to celebrate. What was so amazing about that is neither of their families were local. Joshua had flown in their parents just for this moment! What a sweet, sweet man!!
As if that all wasn’t dreamy and thoughtful enough… That night Joshua surprised Jess again with a celebration party with friends and family. It was a day full of surprises that Jessica said felt like a dream!!
This couple is everything sweet, gentle, kind & unique! As Jessica puts it, they’re Alabama meets South Africa which makes for a lot of fun! They met in California where Joshua still lives, meanwhile Jessica is here in sweet home Alabama planning their dream wedding day! We can’t wait for their celebration at Stonebridge Farms in Cullman, Alabama later this year. It’s going to be a day to remember!
