Sammy & Laura’s Chattanooga Engagement

This past weekend we spent our time getting re-energized in one of our favorite places before wedding season kicks into full gear: Chattanooga. While we were there, we had the honor of shooting Sammy & Laura’s engagement session in two of the most notable locations in all of the city. We met up with them at Coolidge Park and got to know them as we explored. They are two incredibly fun & light-hearted people ,and we’re so thankful we got to work with them.

Sammy & Laura were high school sweethearts who broke things off to go to different colleges in different states. Two years later they were reconnected, and it didn’t take long for their old flame to start right back up. The rest is history, and soon after reconnecting they decided they needed to be in the same state and they ended up back in Chattanooga.

Laura loves animals and actually just got accepted to veterinary school! One day, Sammy surprised her with a once-in-a-lifetime date night at the zoo. They went after closing and had a private tour all to themselves. While there, they had the chance to interact with the animals and get up close and personal with several of them. At the end of the tour they made one final stop to feed the elephant, Kelly. Laura was mesmerized and enjoying her time with the elephant petting its trunk. Behind the scenes, Sammy had prepared an even better surprise & a sign was rolled out on the elephant that said, “will you marry me?” Now if that isn’t the cutest proposal story you’ve ever heard, then we don’t know what is!

Our time with them was so much fun, although it was cut short by a massive storm that hit right as we were in the middle of the Walnut Street Bridge. They were incredibly gracious in the face of bad weather, and we’re so thankful they stuck with our crazy idea to just get a few more shots! Those few shots are now some of our favorites shots ever and we’re so excited to be sharing them with you.

Sammy & Laura, thank you so much for letting us into this special season in your lives. We were so honored to meet you & document your love. We hope that your marriage & all the adventures you’re about to embark on are blessed beyond measure!
