Shannon and Hayden spent 14 months planning their dream wedding day. They picked the most stunning venue, Oak Meadow Event Center, and so many amazing vendors. Invitations were sent and people sent in their RSVPs long before Coronavirus was a thing here in the states. As their wedding date approached things kept getting more and more strict with the shutdowns.
That’s what made it extra heartbreaking when they had to make their decision the week of their wedding to postpone. In the midst of all that chaos they made one important decision: this was their wedding day and no virus could take that away from them. They chose to see that day as being about their marriage and not just an event. So, they decided to elope!
When they asked if we would still come out and shoot their elopement we couldn’t have been more honored. Our hearts are 100% about celebrating marriage with our couples, not just a wedding day. Being their to document and witness this huge moment in their lives was amazing. They made the absolute most of it with so many amazing details. We used their extra flowers for detail photos. They had an incredible vintage car and even a wedding cake to tie it all together! Honestly, their elopement had more details than some wedding days do. It was amazing.
Shannon and Hayden are hands down one incredible, resilient couple. Every one of their family members who was able to attend was so proud of them. We have to say, we are too! They took a tough situation and made the most of it. Now they’re married and they’ll get to celebrate that all over again later this year. We absolutely cannot wait to celebrate with this incredible couple at Oak Meadow Event Center this October! After everything they’ve braved, that is going to be one incredible day!
