There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as Matt & Ellen read the vows they had written to each other. With Matt’s dad behind them officiating & their closest family and friends surrounding them they share a true peak into their love story. Ellen reminded everyone through tears of the days they rode the same school bus & yet didn’t recognize each other. Who would have thought her future husband would be on that middle school bus? Then the day they were reintroduced to each other on the UAB campus green? Who could have predicted that those same middle schoolers would meet again in college & be destined for one another?
It all lead up to this moment and the joy & emotion of it all had the room holding their breath. Matt & Ellen were finally here. Finally saying out-loud for everyone to hear what their hearts had said for years. Just like that it was done and they sealed it with a kiss to be presented to the world as Mr. & Mrs. Lathrop. Wow! Matt & Ellen looked at each other, thrilled, and they shared a laugh of pure joy.
Fun, laid-back, & chill were the words Matt & Ellen used time and time again for how they wanted their wedding day to be. Now in hindsight we can say they truly made that happen and it was perfectly them. Every moment of the day echoed the sweetness of their personalities. From their intimate ceremony to their elegant sit-down dinner at Cafe DuPont in downtown Birmingham it was beautiful. We’re so thankful that we go to witness their day & cheer them on as they became the Lathrops.
Matt & Ellen! We hope you’ve loving this first week of married life & that Tokyo is amazing! Y’all are the best & we can’t wait to see how the two of y’all grow even closer together through marriage 🙂
