Happy Friday, friends!!! We’re so excited to kick off this weekend and figured it was a good time to introduce ourselves again with an official Friday introductions! If you’ve never met us before, we’re Katie & Alec Dixon. Best friends, college sweethearts, ice cream lovers, and husband-and-wife-wedding photographers in Birmingham, Alabama.
We both went to UAB here in Birmingham where we met over a game of ultimate frisbee. Alec was a part of Campus Crusade and Katie started going so she could get to know the handsome man she’d just met. Through that she came to know Christ, we got to know each other, and over time we fell in love. During that time Alec also started teaching Katie how to use a camera. We shot out first wedding together in 2012 and it was definitely a new experience. We honestly said we would never do that again that day! Haha!!
In 2014, after 3 years of dating we got married and started our lives together. By this point we had started dreaming up a business idea, Katie & Alec Photography. We didn’t start it though until after we were married. Ever since we’ve been in full swing and have LOVED every minute of being wedding photographers in Birmingham and getting to work together! It’s been one of the most exciting and challenging parts of our lives.
Beyond our business we’re avid ice cream lovers, cat parents and total homebodies. Our two little kitty babies make our lives so much brighter and are absolutely hysterical. Katie is all about the color pink, eats like a man most days, and she’s obsessed with Kate Spade and statement necklaces. She’s bubbly and 100% percent an extroverted people person. Alec on the other hand is an armature magician, killer swimmer, and jokester. He is one of those people who learns weird & interesting hobbies just to say he can do them.
