This post is probably the most special post-to-date for me. Dustin is an old friend that has been a continual blessing in Alec and I’s lives from our college ministry days and since. When he reached out to let us know that he was about to propose to his phenomenal girlfriend Bethany, I literally giggled in pure joy for a good 2-3 minutes (although Alec may say it was more!)! Immediately we hatched a plan to surprise her and settled on the idea that we would pretend they were helping Alec and I out by being models for us in a location we would be shooting at again soon.
With the approval of Bethany’s family and friends, and her mother’s original engagement ring (Bethany’s dream ring since she was seven years old) in hand Dustin spent the entire day surprising her with so many loving surprises. Roses, new tennis balls, a round of tennis (which she loves), and a fancy surprise dinner led up to the moment where we met at the lookout in Vestavia Hills for the proposal. They arrived as the sun began to set over the mountain and by the time he got down on one knee the loveliest sunset glow set in just for them. Bethany was completely in shock and her joyful surprise was just the sweetest as Dustin professed his love and joy for her and asked her to spend her life serving the Lord and growing old with him. With an enthusiastic “yes!!” they were officially engaged and the moments that followed were pure magic!
Dustin and Bethany, it was such an unbelievable honor to be there with you to capture this momentous occasion in your life and future marriage. Your proposal was beautiful and we know there is so much God has in store for you. Bethany, you’re the woman so many of us prayed for and we know Dustin will love you deeply and blissfully the rest of your lives together. Congrats to you both!
