Luke & Meredith: The Barn at Shady Lane

“Love is patient, love is kind. Luke & Meredith are patient, they are kind. Love does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Meredith & Luke do not envy, they do not boast, they are not proud. Love does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking. Meredith & Luke do not dishonor others, they are not self-seeking. Love is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Meredith & Luke are not easily angered, they keep no record of wrongs… Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Meredith & Luke always protect, always trust, always hope, always persevere.”

These words from 1 Corinthians were prayerfully spoken over Luke & Meredith by their bridal party right before they became Mr. & Mrs. Jones. They stood in front of their dearest family and friends declaring their marriage vows where they smiled at one another as if no one else was there. These words ring so true for Luke & Meredith as they are one grounded, Godly couple with servant hearts. Their wedding day mas magical, with every moment of the day soaked with love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness.

Lately, Alabama has been seeing a drought season, and for the first time in nearly a month it decided to rain. People say it’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day, and for Luke & Meredith it seemed to be. Even with the fact that we had to shoot all of their portraits under an awning, they couldn’t have turned out better and no one seemed to mind! The sky let up a couple of hours before their (outdoor) ceremony and the sun came out. By the time the ceremony started, the grass was dry and the sun was setting beautifully over the barn! It perfectly illuminated the bright colors of the trees behind them. It couldn’t have turned out more beautifully!

Luke & Meredith were married this past Sunday and are now in Seattle for their honeymoon!! Unlike most couple’s, their honeymoon will end on Thursday so they can attend a worship leaders conference in Alaska. This is to prepare them before they move there this Saturday! Luke has taken a job as a worship pastor where the two of them will be serving a beautiful community as the hands and feet of Jesus. We know that they are going to excel there because they believe so firmly in missions and in making Jesus known throughout the world. Luke & Meredith, we hope that you will fall in love with Alaska and its people. We also pray that the two of you will have a long and joy-filled marriage the rest of your days!
