20 Self Care Ideas While Wedding Planning

Wedding planning is notoriously known as a stressful event. In fact, it ranks as one of the top 10 stressors in life. There’s so much to do in a short amount of time, all while you keep living your normal life. No wonder its stressful.

One important thing to make sure you do is actually make time to care for yourself. Self-care is essential to de-stress and make sure you stay sane. There’s no reason to let the stress overwhelm you or suck the fun from this season of life. We’ve compiled a list of our top 20 self-care ideas to help you out!

Intentionally schedule “me time” on your calendar or planner. Don’t let anything work, wedding or just happen to “come up.”

Learn something new. This could be a topic you’ve been interested in but have never taken the time to learn.

Unplug from email and social media for an hour.

Hire a maid or cleaning service.

Go on a date night and promise not to talk about your wedding.

Create a fun/upbeat or soothing classical playlist depending on your mood.

Watch your favorite movie and put away other technology.

Go for a long walk somewhere new & beautiful.

Take a nap without an alarm set.

Go to church or sign up for a Bible study.

Take a day off from work & planning.

Read a book, or, if that’s not your thing, watch funny YouTube videos.

Bake or cook something for fun.

Get a haircut, manicure, or something you’ve wanted to do but have been putting off.

Do something nice for someone else. Even if its as small as complimenting your cashier at Target, it goes a long way.

Cuddle your significant other or pets!

Write down 5 things your thankful for or 5 things you like about yourself.

Work out.

Call up some friends and make plans.

Whatever it is you choose to do, make sure it’s something just for you. Even if you do it once a month that’s enough. All you can do in wedding planning and your life is try your best. Caring for yourself will put you in your best position to put your best self into life.
