One of our favorite things about our blog is that it feels like an online time capsule of our lives. Alec and I have shared so much here and been able to document so many incredible moments on it. That’s why I knew we had to blog about my recent trip to Santa Barbara! It was just too good not to.
After a year of no traveling, it felt good to load up on a plane and jet off to somewhere new! I had no clue just how breathtaking it would be. The mountains, ocean views, and overflowing flowers that fill Santa Barbara were overwhelming. Everywhere you look there you can find gorgeous views and inspiration. I have to say, it was definitely the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to.
You may be wondering what took me to Santa Barbara in the middle of our busiest wedding season. It was actually for a photography conference and editorial shoot! Alec and I are actually planning on sharing that entire shoot in another blog post soon. There were too many gorgeous photos from it to share it all in this one post.
While I was in Santa Barbara for only 2 1/2 days, I got to see so many incredible spots. From Sunstone Winery to old Mission, State Street, and Butterfly Beach so much was crammed into those 2 short days. Just wait until you see that gorgeous California glow and those incredible sunsets. The light out west and in Santa Barbara is so different than what we get here in Alabama. It’s more white and glowy in all the best ways.
Now, Alec and I want to go back and would love to be able to go shoot a real wedding out there! It won’t be long before I make my way back to Santa Barbara.

This little kumquat tree was at our hotel and it was SO cute! They grow everywhere out there!
Waking up for one last sunrise on State Street was so worth it! I loved this little blue lifeguard stand overlooking the warf.
