A pink hotel, a pink Figaro car… it must be Charleston! This incredible session at the Mills House Hotel checked off so many bucket list items for these happy wedding photographers. We love traveling and love bright, fun locations!
When Brooklyn & Trevor emailed us saying they’d be up for anywhere in the South Eastern US for their engagement session, we jumped on it quickly. We’ve always wanted to shoot the Pink Figgy and the iconic Mills House Hotel! As we emailed Brooklyn back and forth with ideas, we just mentioned the Pink Figgy hoping she would find it as charming as we do. Little did we know she already had it in mind to rent a car for the session because Trevor loves vintage cars! So, a surprise was in store for him.
The entire way up we were giddy as we were so excited to be finally going to make it happen. There’s nothing more inspiring than being able to adventure somewhere new. When Trevor found out she had rented the Pink Figgy, he was just as excited as we were! It made for the cutest photos and looked so good in front of the Mills House.
Brooklyn & Trevor are one of the sweetest couples we have ever met. They’re kind, thoughtful, full of joy, and downright wonderful humans. They are both so intentional in everything they do, and their engagement session was no different. It was genuinely such a highlight of the trip to get to spend so much time with them chatting about their recent move, their wedding plans, and everything in between. Getting to know them both is something we definitely aren’t taking for granted!
Perhaps though, the most telling thing about their kindness is that they ended their engagement session by giving us an anniversary gift! It was so thoughtful it made Katie cry when we got in the car. They bought us the two sweetest mugs, not because we drink coffee but for our ice cream because that’s how they eat theirs! On the front of one of them, it has the quote “easy like Sunday morning.” They said it stuck out to them because they know how busy our Saturdays are but how our Sunday mornings are our time of rest. How sweet!?
To say we’re excited to photograph their wedding next is a major understatement. It’s going to be down in Sandestin, Florida, with their reception on the Solaris Yacht! It’s going to be such a blast getting to celebrate these incredible people and their marriage later this year.
