Ever since Katie was a small child, she knew one thing, she wanted her wedding to occur at home. Sitting right on a peninsula on Lake Martin, her childhood home overlooks the water in the most beautiful location. It’s so relaxing hearing the hum of boats as they go by, causing waves to crash along the shoreline.
Private estate weddings hold a special place in our hearts. There is something so personal, so thoughtful, and full of intention that can’t be denied. So many memories already exist in these sacred spaces that make them so unique. For Katie and John, this was a dream come true.
They had a beautiful spring wedding at Children’s Harbor on Lake Martin. After the ceremony, they exited to a flower petal toss holding hands and laughing the entire way. The warm spring weather made the smell of the lake water envelope them with a cool breeze that made it so picturesque. As they made their way to the pier at Children’s Harbor, they paused, looked back at their loved ones, and waved. The day had sped by so quickly already, and they wanted to soak it all in.
From there, they loaded a small wooden boat Katie’s mom bought for their wedding day. “The Ren” pulled off, pushing water to the side as it pushed on towards her parent’s home. Champagne in hand, they sat on the back enjoying the beautiful day. It was the perfect moment for the two of them to slow down and enjoy the moment.
That night they partied with their loved ones and had the sweetest reception. From Katie’s choreographed dance with her dad to their oyster bar, it was as close to perfect as a night can get. You could see it on their faces that it had genuinely been the day that Katie & John had prayed for so long.
It was such an honor to get to serve the Lamberth family for the 3rd time! We shot the wedding of Jenny, Katie’s sister, and their cousin Josh over the last two years. They’re genuinely some of the kindest, most fun people we’ve ever met. They all have this unique energy that brings so much excitement and joy to any place where they are!
Blessings,
Katie & Alec
We still can’t get over this idyllic spot at Children’s Harbor for a ceremony! What a dream!
We love that they did a petal toss exit from their ceremony! It’s an extra special moment that brought them so much joy!
Katie’s dad made this custom beer canoe! What a fun and personal idea.
This painting behind the cake was done by Katie’s sister, Jenny! It’s a photo of the three sisters sitting on the dock at their home where the wedding was held.
