The sun was setting over the water on the coast of Miramar Beach, Florida. Cranes and other coastal birds flew overhead as Brooklyn & Trevor worked their way towards the cruise ship for their reception. Those little moments in between photos and walking were spent whispering sweet words of excitement to one another. The day they’re prayed for was here and it was everything they had hoped for and more.
It all started in a college dorm building. When Brooklyn & Trevor met she didn’t think much about it. She was serious about school and had never dated before. It just wasn’t the first thing that came to mind. So, once she noticed he kept coming over to her dorm to watch The Bachelor with her and her friends she finally started to get suspicious. “I think he might like me, but I’m not sure…” She told her closest friends this only to hear them say “DUH! He likes you!”
Trevor definitely had a crush on the girl in his dorm. Most men don’t willingly watch The Bachelor without a more important reason behind it. He wanted to get to know her and hopefully, one day ask her out. After months of friendship and a whole lot of rose ceremonies, they finally started dating. For both of them, it was their first boyfriend/girlfriend and thankfully their only one.
Brooklyn is driven, organized, thoughtful, and detailed. Trevor is a little more laid back, fun-loving, and as his friends all described him, “goofy.” They balance one another and complement one another in so many ways. Their relationship is built on a solid foundation based on their faith and secured by their deep friendship. It’s obvious to see they really strive to put the other first on a daily basis.
As we got to know them through their engagement season it was so clear they’re a wonderful couple. Their kindness, genuine natures, and thoughtfulness are evident to everyone in their lives. Speech after speech their friends and families echoed this sentiment. It’s because of these characteristics we’re sure their marriage will not just survive the test of time but will thrive.
Their wedding day reflected their character and kindness. They wanted guests to have an intimate and intentional experience to celebrate not just their marriage but their love for those who are important in their lives. Mirimar Beach was the perfect, serene setting. It allowed guests to all stay on the property and enjoy the beach. The weather was warm but breezy like it should be on a good beach trip, and magically sunny. Everything was held on the Sandestin property and was beyond beautiful! It was honestly an honor to be a part of it all. It felt just as intentional and tropical as Brooklyn & Trevor had wanted.
If we had to pick a favorite moment, it would be when Trevor saw Brooklyn walking down the aisle. They’re already seen one another earlier in the day and got to spend as much time together as possible. It only deepened the joy and feelings he felt as he saw her walking to him in white. The tears flowed not just from him but from everyone in attendance!
Looking back, their day was a dream. We’re so thankful we got to play a small part, and more importantly that we got to know this incredible couple. We only wish they lived closer so we could hang out more often!
