Harper & Andy’s Birmingham Engagement

Harper and Andy met in college during the month of finals. They spent the entire week of testing “studying,” which really meant flirting. While neither of them did quite as well on their tests as they wanted, they gained something so much more important than any grade, they found their forever person. It didn’t take long for either of them to know they would marry the other one day.

Flash forward to December 2022 as they went on a dream trip with Andy’s family to Hawaii. A few months prior, they had looked at engagement rings, but Harper had no idea if Andy had actually bought a ring or not. Hawaii felt like the perfect proposal spot, and she had secret hopes that it would happen there. As they traveled, Harper noticed that Andy had not packed a carry-on bag, which squashed her hopes that proposal he would be proposing on the trip. There was just no way in her mind that he would pack the ring in his regular suitcase, and he couldn’t get it through a metal detector otherwise.

But little did she know, Andy had a surprise up his sleeve. His mom had sneakily carried the ring on the way and threw off all suspicion. On the second to last night of the trip, Andy told Harper that he wanted to take sunset pictures which is the sweetest idea. Of course, Harper was over the moon and eagerly agreed to the idea! They got all dressed up, and Andy’s sister-in-law snapped a few photos of them.

After pictures, while walking down the beach, Andy suggested they sit together and watch the sunset. As they got up to walk back to their hotel room, Andy got down on one knee and proposed! Harper was so taken aback that she couldn’t stop crying and even forgot to say “Yes” at first. But after what felt like a few minutes, she finally said, “Yes!” and the couple walked back towards the hotel, with Harper screaming like a crazy person (her words, not ours, haha), “We are getting married!”

Now that they’re engaged, they’re planning a beautiful Summer wedding in Auburn this July. To say we’re so excited for this precious couple would be a major understatement. We loved getting to meet them at their engagement session and hearing all about what they have planned for their wedding so far. They’re truly so sweet, kind, and adorable together. They spent the majority of the session cracking each other up with inside jokes and their laughter was so genuine. Their wedding day is sure to be a beautiful celebration of their love for one another, and we can’t wait to be a part of it all!
