Stella and Nik’s engagement session at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens was filled with stunning light, laughter, and the beautiful story of two best friends turned soulmates. As we explored the lush gardens, it was clear that their journey together was as lovely as the blooming flowers around us.
Their story began years ago when Nik’s family moved from Phoenix, Arizona, to Dothan, Alabama. Nik’s dad took a job at Flower’s Hospital, where he hired Stella’s dad as his nurse practitioner. This connection quickly blossomed into a close friendship between their families, and Nik became one of Stella’s best friends.
Life took them on different paths for a time. Nik attended the University of Alabama for his first two years of college, while Stella finished her senior year of high school and began her freshman year at college. Despite the distance, their bond remained strong. It wasn’t until Stella’s first semester of college that their friendship evolved into something more, and they began dating.
Nik made the big decision to transfer to Auburn, and as Stella puts it, “the rest is history.” Now, their engagement symbolizes their love and the deep friendship that has been their foundation. After being a part of both their proposal and engagement session, we can’t wait to watch them thrive in marriage!
