A Joyful Blue & Green Wedding at Reid Chapel and Oris & Oak in Birmingham, Alabama

Ashley and Jake’s wedding day was one of those celebrations that felt like pure joy from start to finish. From the moment we arrived at Reid Chapel at Samford University, laughter filled the air, and you could just feel how much these two were loved. The day was full of heartfelt moments, happy tears, and the kind of energy that makes everyone around them smile.

Their story began right there at Samford, where they met through mutual friends and shared a few classes freshman year. It wasn’t until sophomore year that sparks really started to fly. After months of texting back and forth, Jake asked Ashley to dinner — a simple Panera date that turned into hours of effortless conversation. She told us how comfortable and fun it felt, and watching them together now, it’s easy to see why.

When it came time for Jake to propose, he made sure it was unforgettable. With the help of their friends, he planned a clever little prank that led Ashley straight to Sibyl Temple. Thinking she was just on her way to dinner with friends, she had no idea what was waiting for her — until they took a “wrong turn,” and there he was, ready to ask her to spend forever with him.

Their wedding day carried that same mix of laughter and emotion. The soft blue and green color palette gave everything an elegant, calming feel, from the bridesmaids’ flowing dresses to the lush hydrangeas and greenery that surrounded the chapel doors. Ashley looked absolutely radiant in her off-the-shoulder gown, and Jake couldn’t stop smiling every time he looked at her.

Our favorite moment of the day came during their first look and private vow reading. Tucked away from the crowd, they shared words meant only for each other — tearful, sincere, and full of love. It was one of those moments where time seemed to slow down, and you realized just how deeply two people can connect.

After their emotional ceremony at Reid Chapel, everyone made their way to Oris & Oak for the reception. The space was dressed in classic blues and greens, with tables topped with ferns and hydrangeas that perfectly tied the whole day together. Under the warm wood beams of the pavilion, friends and family laughed, danced, and celebrated late into the evening.

Ashley and Jake’s wedding was the perfect reflection of who they are — joyful, genuine, and surrounded by people who adore them. It was a day filled with love, tears, and the kind of happiness that lingers long after the last song fades.
