Engagement sessions are a key part of our Birmingham wedding photography packages, and are complimentary with them. At the start of the session, we talk you through the basics of posing, where to put your hands, and answer any questions you might have. As a husband-and-wife team, we can actually show you the poses, making you feel comfortable and providing a simple example of what to do. Our primary goal is to make sure you feel natural and at ease (never awkward) in front of the camera.

“How many years of experience do you have?”

Katie & Alec Photography started back in 2012, providing us with over 13 years of experience as Birmingham wedding photographers. Over the years, we have shot over 250 weddings and countless engagement, maternity, family, and senior sessions.

“How many photographers will be included in my package?”

You will always get two primary photographers for your wedding day. We pride ourselves on working together as a husband-and-wife team, which means you get two highly skilled and experienced wedding photographers, not a primary and secondary shooter.

“Are all images delivered by your core team or do you sometimes send junior or freelance shooters?”

If you hire us, you get Katie & Alec as your primary photographers. You can always add on a third shooter for larger events. Plus, we now offer an associate photographer. You choose who you book, and you will know up front whether you’re working with Katie & Alec or the associate team.

“How many weddings do you shoot per year?”

No more than 20-25. While some Birmingham, Alabama wedding photographers shoot for high volume, we focus on high-quality, personal service. We have found that shooting between 20-25 weddings a year allows us to provide the best service and the right amount of personal attention to each wedding we work on.
