Before we get started, we have to say the following: Lauren & Benny are the epitome of a brave, incredible, strong couple. Their courage and fierce love in the face of adversity has inspired us more than we could ever say. When they had to make the impossible decision to postpone their destination wedding due to Covid-19 they handled it with so much grace and kindness. They chose love over fear and it was and always will be amazing.
They informed us of their decision to postpone their wedding but said they just couldn’t wait to be married. Their marriage was first and foremost on their minds. So, they decided to get married on their date no matter what happened. It was such a huge honor for us to drive up to Raleigh, North Carolina to their home for their elopement. With their closest friends and family there, and their adorable pup, Brutus, they became Mr. & Mrs. Cantwell in a magical little forest!
It was a beautiful ceremony and no one in attendance had a dry eye. With sweet, personal vows they promised each other forever. It wasn’t what they had imagined for their day, but it was everything that mattered. We know that their love can survive anything if they always carry that mindset with them that they have all they need in their marriage.
As if all that wasn’t enough to inspire us, it just kept getting better. On their wedding day, Benny said something that stopped us in our tracks. On a day where he could have been 100% focused on everything that had gone wrong, he said how he felt for everyone involved. How sad he was for all the vendors who were affected in our industry. If that’s not humility and genuine understanding we don’t know what is.
We’re just so thankful for these two! Their home in Raleigh is amazing, and it was such a joy to finally get to meet sweet Brutus! We’ve seen him so much on social media since they got him and it was so fun to love on him. We also loved getting to watch Lauren and Benny together. They have hearts of gold and we can’t wait to celebrate with them again in Rhode Island in July!
