For Brides

Do You Really Need Engagement Pictures?

Every day it seems like you grab your cell phone, rapidly search for your mom’s number and pray that she answers the phone. As you impatiently wait for her to pick up you think to yourself that in a seemingly long 100+ days you’ll be done with this crazy engagement season. Done making calls about tablescapes and invitation suites. When you were just dating your now fiance all you could think about was getting engaged. That seems like forever ago though & you wish you would have enjoyed how carefree & simple dating was. Now that you’re engaged all you can think about is your wedding day & planning.

Before you know it though, those 100+ days will fly away, just like your dating days did & you’ll quickly forget this short but incredible season of your life. Being engaged is like no other time in your life. It’s a crazy balance of pure joy and stress, excitement and impatience, so much to look forward to and so many decisions to make. In the midst of it all it can be so easy to let it pass you by and to not document it. Even more so, do you really want to take the time and money to invest in a real, professional engagement session? Well, let us help shed some light on a few reasons why an engagement session might be perfect for you and your fiance!

Creating Memories

Like we said before, this season of engagement will go by so quickly! Taking time to document the amazing feelings of love, joy, and serious excitement for your wedding day will create amazing memories for you to look back on. Engagement pictures will freeze in time these fleeting moments so you can always look back on who you were together before you said “I do.” Plus, think of how much your future kids & grand-kids will love these images that show just how in love y’all were even before they knew you.

Taking Time to Enjoy Being Engaged

Being engaged can totally be stressful at times, we so get it! Engagement photos can help remind you of all the good things though because it’s literally you + the person you love most + getting all dressed up + spending a couple solid hours focusing on your relationship. You’ll get to hold hands, talk about the future, and forget everything else while you’re having them taken. It’s a great way to have fun & relax for a little together. Plus, you’ll look already be dressed up so it’s the perfect excuse for a date night!

Their Many Uses

Once you get your photos back they can be used for so many purposes. Hang them in your new home. Show them off at your wedding. Use them for save-the-dates and don’t forget you could probably use a new Facebook profile picture! 😉 We’ve even created guest book albums & had couples order canvases for their guests to sign or to hang up in their house! The uses are totally endless and will make sure your investment is oh-so worth it.

Consider it a Test Run

Just like you’ll meet up with you hair & makeup artist before the wedding day you should do the same with your photographers. The most important thing about an engagement session is getting to know you what it’s like being in front of the camera with your wedding photographers. You can learn how they pose, work through any nerves about having your pictures taken, and get to know your photographer better. That means on the wedding day you’ll know exactly what to do & won’t have to waste precious time learning poses or introducing yourself again. It’s a win, win, win + you get photos from it! Getting to experience all this with the people who will spend more time with you on your wedding day than any other vendor is crucial.

Whether or not you end up deciding to go with an engagement session we hope this helps you see a few reasons why you should. Your photographer will thank you if you do & your wedding day will be smoother thanks to it!

Blessings,

Katie & Alec
