Sometimes you must wait until the right moment for things to work out. When John and Neely first met in high school, according to him, she couldn’t stand him. As high school goes, people often don’t settle into their personalities with confidence until they leave that space and have a chance to become their own person. By the time Neely saw him again years later, that annoying boy had turned into an incredible man. One lunch together, and they haven’t gone a day without loving one another since.
Now, they’re engaged and together long distance while Neely is in Oxford studying and John is in Savannah serving our country in the Army. We caught up with them at their engagement session during a brief window while they were both back in Birmingham together. It took about .5 seconds to realize just how madly in love they are and how their relationship is filled with so much admiration and joy. Their chemistry is simply undeniable, and their friendship is apparent in every way. We can only imagine how powerful of an impact their relationship will have on everyone around them once they’re finally living in the same place together.
Their session was split between the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and the Temple of Sibyl in Vestavia. While we get to shoot at the gardens all the time, Sibyl was a special treat! We love the bright white columns, lush grounds, and spectacular overlook of Birmingham! It was the perfect backdrop for their photos.
Blessings,
Katie & Alec

Sibyl Temple couldn’t have been more gorgeous for their session!
