Some couples simply create a beautiful wedding day. Marayah and Austin created a wedding day that was not only beautiful but also made everyone around them feel loved.
Their story began years ago at a New Year’s Eve party. They had attended the same high school, but it wasn’t until that night—through a mutual friend—that they truly connected. Austin asked permission to take Marayah to dinner, and after watching the National Championship together just a few days later, they were rarely apart again.
Their wedding at The Farm in Akron, Alabama, was every bit as sweet and southern as their story. A classic black-and-white design set the tone for the day, creating an elegant atmosphere without ever feeling overdone. Austin wore a classic black tux, while Marayah absolutely stole the show in a stunning strapless lace gown. The dress featured a delicate lace bow that flowed from the small of her back down her train, creating a look that felt equal parts Southern grace and old Hollywood glamour.
Austin is a more reserved man who doesn’t express his emotions with much animation. When Marayah walked down the aisle, that all changed. As she made her way toward him, his composure faded and his eyes filled with tears. It was one of the most emotional moments of the day and a beautiful reminder of just how much she means to him. Just those few moments between them at the ceremony spoke volumes to their steady, quiet love.
Throughout the wedding day, we watched Marayah intentionally bless the people around her with meaningful gifts and thoughtful gestures. She even surprised us with custom embroidered hats featuring our logo—a gift we never expected but will always treasure. To know her is to feel loved, and we’re so thankful we got to feel a small sense of that throughout their wedding planning process.
This wedding was especially meaningful for us because it was Katie’s first wedding back after welcoming our son, Charlie. We induced labor a week early so she would have extra time to recover before the wedding, and Marayah and Austin trusted us completely throughout the process. Long before Charlie arrived, Marayah was the first person to purchase a gift from our baby registry—a Hatch sound machine that helps him sleep every single night. That thoughtfulness perfectly reflects who she is.
If there’s one thing we learned about Marayah and Austin on their wedding day, it’s that they know how to make the people around them feel loved and seen. Their kindness isn’t something they turn on for special occasions. It’s simply who they are. And after spending a day celebrating alongside them, it’s easy to understand why they are so deeply loved by everyone around them.
Blessings,
Katie & Alec
