Engagement sessions are hands down our favorite part of the wedding photography process!! There’s so many reasons why! One of our favorites is that we get to see our couple’s unique styles. With each engagement session we have our number one question we get from our couples is: what should we wear for our session? We’ve sent this email out so many times and decided it was time to put together a blog post to let you know our favorite tips for what to wear to your engagement session (so many so we’ve now actually created a custom style guide just for our K&A couples!)! Here’s just a few bis of advice we suggest.
1. Do not wear small, thin stripes or tiny striped patterns such as plaid patterns.
When you’re in front of the camera small stripes and plaid patterns are not your friends! These small patterns tend to cause distortions in your photos that can end up making you look warped. Although it can be cute and oh-so-tempting, it’s definitely not worth making your photos look so distorted.

2. Don’t be afraid to dress up!
We LOVE it when couples dress up for their engagement sessions. Heels, a cute dress, or even a tulle skirt can make your photos look extra special. Even having your man wear a tux or sport coat can add some extra flare to give you formal images that you’ll love forever. If you’re working with us, we allow time for an outfit change so you can consider one casual and one more formal outfit so you can get the perfect variety!
3. Bold jewelry can make you stand out and add a pop of color for you.
Wearing a statement necklace or sparkly dangling earrings can offer a source of color if you’ve decided on a more neutral colored outfit.
4. Be yourself!
Duh… right? We definitely know that when you go to get your pictures taken it can be nerve racking, and sometimes you might want to pick out an outfit you think everyone else will like, but in the end it’s all about creating memories you’ll always treasure. Come as yourself and your love will be the thing that makes your engagement session the most beautiful of all, we promise!
