When I first emailed back-and-forth with Kendall planning her engagement session we threw around some ideas and excitedly decided on one of the most iconic Birmingham landmarks… Sloss Furnace! Even though I am a Birmingham native I have to admit I’d never been to Sloss before! I know… I’m not okay with it either, especially now that I know what I’ve been missing out on. Let’s just say I can definitely understand why it’s a landmark here in the city. It’s long history mixed in with its ghostly feel produced by its bellowing metal tubes and winding paths will give you chills as you walk through it! It was beautiful and definitely provided the perfect backdrop for this incredibly sweet couple!
Between shooting at Sloss and Avondale Park we got a gorgeous array of colors and sunlight from the day. Funny enough, even though we shot at two staples of Birmingham, neither Patrick or Kendall are from Birmingham!
Patrick and Kendall have the sweetest temperaments and around one another they just can’t stop giggling and making each other get the cutest grins! If we weren’t photographers who liked to encourage this type of behavior, we would probably think it was pretty gross ;). They really were just lighting up around one another and you can tell they know how to have a good laugh.
Like I mentioned earlier, neither of these two love-birds are from the Magic City. Patrick followed a job to the magic city while around the same time Kendall came to UAB to further her education. When they met they instantly clicked, fell in love, and got engaged, and now they are set for a destination wedding in Charleston this coming October. We know that they will h and that these two will make a beautiful life together (one that’s definitely full of couch snuggles and laughter).
