A Home Update: Drywall

We love watching home makeover or building shows like Fixer Upper or Extreme Home Makeover. There is just something so fascinating about seeing a home come to life! The process, the tough choices, and that crazy amazing end result. We can’t get enough! So, we decided to share our own home building story. So, from the day we chose to build to the final product we’re sharing it right here on the blog:

#2 Our Home Design Part 1

#3 Our Home Design Part 2

#4 Why We Chose New Construction

#5 We Broke Ground

#6 Big Changes

#7 Drywall is Up

#8 One Month Away

As 2018 came to a close the progress on our home slowed down drastically. The weather was terrible, people were off for the holidays, and we felt like it wasn’t getting anywhere fast.

Now, we’ve had a lot of people asking if it affected our move in date. The simple answer is yes, yes it did. We were hoping to move in mid-February. All the rain pushed things back and we’re looking at sometime in March. We’re trusting that God’s timing is better than ours and this will be what’s best for us.

So, where are we in the process now? Well, the drywall just went up!! In a matter of 2 weeks they’ve painted the outside, roofed the house, and installed the drywall. All that’s left is to put the final touches on the drywall before they move on.

This is our favorite part of the process so far!! It’s made the home really come alive. You can finally see what each room will actually look like. It’s absolutely incredible!!

Next up, adding trim, cabinets & starting on the fireplace ship-lap! Soon after that we’ll start seeing the bathroom tiling get done. As our realtor told us this is where it “gets real.” Like it didn’t already feel that way to us! Haha!

Thanks, again, for following along with us on this journey. We’re so thrilled and honestly ready for our move in date to be here. 60 more days to go!!!
