Happy Friday, friend!! Undoubtedly, the best day of the week 🙂 One of our favorite Friday traditions is #fridayintroductions on instagram. It’s such a fun way to get to know a little more about our favorite people. So, we thought we’d take it one step further and introduce ourselves a little more in depth here.
If you’re new here, we’re Katie & Alec Dixon, a husband-&-wife wedding photography team based in Birmingham, Alabama. People always ask if we’re brother or sister, which baffles us, because we look nothing alike. Another funny thing is that at 50% of our weddings some cute old lady comes up to Katie asking if Alec is single, saying she needs to lock him down quick haha! Lucky for her, she did that a while ago 😉
We digress… but back to the fast facts!!
-We both grew up in Birmingham, Alabama! Katie grew up in Helena & Alec in Inverness.
-We met at UAB over a midnight game of ultimate Frisbee, because that’s what you do in college! Duh, haha! We actually wrote about our whole love story here!
-Campus Crusade is how we really got to know one another. It was a huge part of our college experience.
-Katie is an enneagram 6w3 & Alec is a 3w9. We balance each other well!
-We got married in 2014 during the years of burlap & mason jars, if we could do it again we’d definitely change a few things! We actually have a full blog post on our wedding mistakes we would change here.
-Over the last year, we built & moved into our first home, and it has been such a dream! You can read the full story here.
-We’ve got 3 precious fur babies: Dixie & Belle the kitties and Ava the puppers! They all have southern inspired names!
-Our favorite shows include: the Office, Shark Tank, Black List, and Queer Eye!
-There is no greater honor for us than to photograph weddings, mainly because we love encouraging marriages. We feel like that is a huge calling in our lives!
