KAP Behind the Scenes

Our 8th Wedding Anniversary

Today is a super special day; it is our 8th wedding anniversary!! It is wild to think that 8 years ago, two kids were walking down the aisle and committing their lives to one another. Back then, we had no clue what we were getting into and just how sweet marriage would be! So many people thought we wouldn’t last, and here we are at year 8, more in love than we were back then and happy as ever! God has surely blessed our marriage and provided us with more than we deserve.

Honestly, today snuck up on both of us. We are deep in the thick of wedding season and just an overall busy season of life. Last week on our daily walk around our neighborhood, it dawned on us that our anniversary was coming up. This year, we have decided to keep our celebration small and are celebrating with friends over dinner tomorrow. Tonight we’re keeping it simple with a game night and making dinner together. While it may not be a high-class dinner or big trip, it is wonderful. It fits us well for this season, and we both truly believe that anniversaries aren’t about always going all out.

So, today there isn’t an open letter on the blog (we just didn’t have the time), and we aren’t off jet-setting somewhere (this year), but instead, here’s a walk down memory lane with some of our favorite photos. Each one represents a special time in our relationship, whether that’s our proposal, building our first home, or trips we have taken. They bring us so much joy, and one of our favorite things about our blog is how we can go back and enjoy these memories years later. We can’t wait to look back on this post years from now and praise God for this crazy season of life.

Cheers to our 8th wedding anniversary and 11 years together!

Blessings,

Katie & Alec

It is still hard to believe that we announced we were building our first home on this day 4 years ago! Seeing that pop-up on our timelines today came as a bit of a shock! It really does feel like yesterday that we were doing walk-throughs of our home, barely framed up. Man, time flies! We also blogged that journey, and you can read all about it here.

We still aren’t over our 5th-anniversary trip/session in SanFransisco! Yes, we did do 2 sessions that year!

Or this session we did in Washington, D.C., in 2020! How we got the Lincoln Memorial all to ourselves is still a mystery!

Thanks for being here today and celebrating this milestone with us. Having so many people support us over the years in marriage, business, and life has always meant the world to us. The fact that you are here and care about our anniversary is an honor!

On top of that, they made sure all of the poses were natural and felt comfortable to us. It was such a fun, relaxed experience with them and my husband!”

"From the engagement session to our wedding day, they captured the details that are important to us.
