Hey there, friend!!
It has been a hot minute since we’ve done a life lately. After finishing up our home build (which we blogged the whole process here) we moved in and got quiet. Not on purpose! We just got busy with wedding season, getting a dog, and life. Now, we’ve finally had some time to catch up in off season.
We had 2 back-to-back non-stop wedding years that were amazing but ultimately so exhausting. In those 2 years shot well over 50 weddings in that time and way more portrait sessions! We aren’t designed to run non-stop but we did. So, these past 3 months where things slowed down a little and we only did 2 weddings was magical. We have learned over time that God works miraculously through our schedules and always gives us what we need in each season. This one has been proof of that.

So, what have we been up to? Lots of date nights, cleaning, editing, and working on the back-end of our business! Really, it hasn’t been a real “off season” from anything but actually shooting. There is still a lot of hard work involved. Having actual weekends to ourselves though is a huge plus! We forgot what that felt like being able to live like “normal” humans for a bit. It’s also been amazing having time to really focus more on our own marriage! We love it!
Shooting Our Cousins’ Senior Photos
We still don’t know how on earth Luke & Samantha are even old enough for this!! Somehow our sweet little cousins grew up and became high school seniors. Luke is set to go to Auburn and Samantha to Alabama this Fall! It was such a fun time getting to take their senior photos! You can see Luke’s here and Samantha’s here!
We Became Fully Booked
During the past month we actually became fully booked for 2020! That means we aren’t taking on any more weddings (unless someone wants to take us to Europe haha!). This year we have 25 incredible couples that we just can’t wait to serve!! We’ve never capped our bookings before but felt this year God wanted us to do that for our family. It’s been a tough decision, but we know it will be a blessing in the long run! It is worth our mental health.
New Head Shots
We also recently had some updated head shots done! Every single year without fail we get them done to keep our website fresh. Also, we love putting ourselves in our client’s shoes. It’s a great reminder of the nerves, the excitement and the joy of having your photos taken. It always helps us grow as photographers. Here are a few sneak peeks from our time in Montgomery!
We start back this coming weekend, on Leap Day, for our 2020 Spring Wedding season!! Between now and June we have 16 weddings on the books. We can’t wait to celebrate with Kyle & Lindsey at the gorgeous Barn at Shady Lane to kick them all off! It is sure to be a gorgeous day to start off this season!
